Out & About Screening Of

“Horse Boy” Attracts 167 Attendees

On Friday, February 5, 167 people attended a packed house for Medicine Horse and Out & About’s film screening and fundraiser, The Horse Boy, at Imagine!’s John M. Taylor Conference Center.  The film is about Rowan Isaacson, a boy who was diagnosed with autism in 2004. Rupert, his father, was devastated, afraid he might never be able to communicate with his child.  But when Rupert rode their neighbor's horse with Rowan, he
saw  immeasurable improvement.  Rupert decided to take his son to Mongolia, where horses
and healing intersect.

The evening was highlighted by a presentation by Rupert Isaacson.  Rupert was very
gracious about talking with parents and providers, and he answered questions for at
least a half an hour after the movie, then signed books for another hour.

The event raised $1,624 for Out & About’s Community Based Therapeutic Services
and more than $800 for Medicine Horse’s Hippotherapy Program.
